Start online update

To perform a manual online update, open organization > Online Update menu.

Direct connection to the Internet – default

To configure the proxy, ask your system or network administrator

Clicking Next > opens the following window

Program version … | this is compared with the currently used version

from … | For each version of the program there is a description of what has been introduced or corrected in this update

Size … | The size of the download

Result |

  • no update possible |
    • there is no new update yet | as a rule, between 6-8 weeks an update provided
    • Check here whether the date what is displayed at the … matches the current update description
      • if there is a more recent update the license used is not released for the update
  • Update available | Installation has not yet been performed

Perform update | in exceptional cases and only available with the same program version


Depending on the setting under organization > settings > service, HERDEplus checks for an available update itself.

  • no | Update check off
  • check | at intervals of 7 – 13 days is checked for an update
  • Check at each start | this setting is only intended for customers participating in the HERDEplus Beta Test.

Questions:

Why do I stop receiving automatic updates?

Is the software service contract active?
Is the license up-to-date? see organization to read > new license

Is background checking turned on for Update?
On the network, not every client may be authorized to check for a new update.
The firewall, proxy settings, and rights management can also be the reason for this.

Is manual retrieval possible?
If so, check the settings for the update check under Organization > Settings > Service
