Calving

  1. Open Capture animal > Reproduction > Calving.
  1. Type in the animal number (i.e. “2978”) and confirm this with .
    • The date is set to the current day and can be overwritten.
    • To do this, type in the day (i.e. “17”). This assumes the day is in the current month and year.
    • There does not have to be a period of time for the date ” . ” can be entered. “1302” thus means “13.02.”
  1. In Inseminationfield, the insemination that may be possible is suggested. Confirm with .
    • In the drop-down menu, another can be selected, if available.
  1. Enter the sex and confirm with .
    1. = male
    2. = female
  1. The estimated whereabouts are suggested and stored internally.
  1. The Course shall be indicated. The drop-down menu opens through the Spacebar

The dark green sign in front of the captured animal indicates that the captured line is plausible. If the plausible data on the calf are changed afterwards (i.e. gender, whereabouts) the next live ear number is suggested to this animal. Check the correctness of the values independently and adjust the ear tag when needed! This also applies to all subsequent lines.

  1. The calf’s ear tag is mandatory and will be used according to the stored Organization>Settings> Farm data> BU > Ear tags calves predeterminated.
    • can be overwritten
    • in the case of stillbirths, the ear tag cannot be captured
  1. The group is predetermined according to the recorded calving and stored internally. The breed results from MotherRacex FatherRaceand is given, but can be changed.
  1. To enter another calf (twin / triplet) to the same mother, press or click on the sign or to enter another calving or .
  1. For further calving, repeat steps 2 to 9.
  1. Complete the capture with Save
